The roads ahead may be scary

The Art Of Hating Robots

--

The roads ahead may be scary,

The roads ahead may be scary,

The roads ahead.

We don’t know anything about these roads,

We have no accurate maps, no road signs,

no phones, no GPS, neither a guide that knows the way.

We do have some rough indications though,

barely a pair of lights, and sadly some certainties.

There will be wrong turns, crashes, empty tanks,

and several flat tires without having in the trunk a spare one.

We have the certainty of the loss of a loved one,

or perhaps of whom we thought

were supposed to leave this journey after us,

Not before,

Not before, please.

Why before?

The roads ahead may be scary,

The roads ahead may be scary,

The roads ahead won’t be like that all the time,

But at least 73,5% of the way

only if you are traveling light.

The road for sure is steep and bumpy,

it will be sandy, will be stormy, slippery,

snowy, rocky, misty, rainy, and foggy,

but never boring.

Routines only last until the next dangerous curve.

While on the road,

always remember that “objects in mirror are closer than they appear”

your memories, your mistakes, your chances,

your glories may look bigger through the rearview mirror.

You will yearn for them,

So yearn, heave a sigh, and focus on the road,

focus on remembering that soon this path will be in the mirror too.

“Enjoy the ride,” they say

But it’s not the ride alone

Is also the path you create that is joyful as well.

So keep on driving,

You are carrying wonderful passengers with you

and some treasures in your luggage too.

Bumps are coming,

there are some fallen trees on your way, and you already know that.

The roads ahead may be scary,

The roads ahead may be scary,

Drive joyfully through the roads ahead,

Godspeed.

Buen viaje!
